Road traffic control involves directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around a construction zone, accident or other road disruption, thus ensuring the safety of emergency response teams, construction workers and the general public. Traffic Control is undertaken by applying the traffic control plan or the designing of a specific plan for the control of traffic. The approach used by EGIS is based upon qualified personnel using the N.S.W. Roads and Traffic Authority’s Traffic Control at Work sites manual V4.0 and Australian Standards AS 1742.3 at all times.
When at a client’s work site our traffic controllers set up closures according to the approved plan. This is achieved by using various signs, barricades, cones, directional arrow boards and portable variable message signs. All these devices are used to safely divert traffic around and/or through a specific work site.
Egis Traffic Management Solutions will use its operational expertise to prepare for clients a Traffic Control Plan (TCP).
A Traffic Control Plan demonstrates a considered method of controlling pedestrians and vehicles through and around a worksite. They are essential for any road works..
A signed TCP must be provided for every lane / roads closure.
